Steps For Safety 5K & Kids Fun Run

Every step brings awareness. Every participant shows support. Every dollar makes a difference.

Join us on October 10th for the Steps for Safety 5K & Kids Fun Run, benefiting Barren River Area Safe Space, Inc. This event takes place during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and brings our community together for a morning dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and helping provide hope and safety to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence.

Whether you’re an experienced runner, a casual walker, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend the morning with your family and friends, everyone is welcome. Walk it, jog it, run it—how you cross the finish line doesn’t matter. Showing up does.

The morning will include our 5K at 8:00 AM, followed by the Kids Fun Run at 9:30 AM, giving even our youngest supporters an opportunity to get involved. A virtual option is also available for those who want to support the cause but can’t join us in person.

Most importantly, all proceeds from the Steps for Safety 5K & Kids Fun Run go directly to BRASS, Inc. to support the work they do for survivors of domestic violence throughout our region.

Domestic violence often happens behind closed doors, but those experiencing it should never feel that they are alone. By participating, you are helping us bring greater awareness to domestic violence, stand alongside survivors, and support an organization working every day to provide safety, resources, advocacy, and hope.

Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring the kids. Take a step with us for safety, for awareness, and for those who may not yet be able to take that step for themselves.
